Bharat have been making leather designs for us since 2017. Bharat are a larger operation and use their influence to improve their environmental and social performance. This includes the use of rooftop solar energy to provide a portion of their electricity, and the use of air-conditioning wastewater to water the garden in the central courtyard of the factory. Bharat have also invested in new computerised technology for mapping and cutting pieces from leather hides. This increases energy efficiency, reduces waste, and minimises risk of worker injury at the cutting stage of production.
Bharat are members of the Worldly HIGG platform, where they report on electricity, water, waste and chemical impact. The factory also undergoes annual SMETA social compliance audits, which are conducted by a third party and provide transparency into worker wellbeing and wages.

Care Instructions
To maintain the beauty of your ELK bag we recommend protective sprays and using a good quality leather conditioner to treat the product, which will increase its longevity. Do not put leather pieces on the ground or rub against abrasive surfaces. Leather is a natural material and will wear with age and use. The dye in the leather can sometimes rub off so please be aware of this when wearing light clothing or placing the leather item on light surfaces.
